Fueling Your Mission with Available Federal Dollars: Nonprofit Security Grants & ARPA
Wednesday, April 13 | 1:00 PM – 2:15 PM | Webinar

Presented by: David L. Thompson, Vice President of Public Policy, and Jessica Mendieta, Policy Associate, National Council of Nonprofits (NCN) | Shendelle Hockenberry, Grant Programs Manager (NSGP), PA Emergency Management Agency (PEMA)

Offered in Partnership with: National Council of Nonprofits | PA Emergency Management Agency (PEMA)

Sponsored by: RBW Strategy

As a nonprofit in your community, you are a vehicle for doing good. Every mission requires energy for forward motion. The federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), or dollars made available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) could provide that momentum – for you. Join PANO, PEMA, and the National Council of Nonprofits (NCN) on April 13, 2022, to get ideas for how you could use available federal dollars to fuel your work.

The purpose of the NSGP program is to provide funding to eligible nonprofits to implement physical security enhancements, training, and planning to increase the safety and security of the users of a facility located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that is owned or operated by a nonprofit organization. Shendelle Hockenberry, PEMA’s Grant Programs Manager, will provide an overview of potential projects and eligibility requirements.

In addition to the NSGP program, the state still has billions available in unspent ARPA funding; counties and municipalities also have billions of unspent ARPA dollars. David L. Thompson, NCN’s VP of Public Policy, and Jessica Mendieta, Policy Associate at NCN, will provide an overview of the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program and answer questions about helpful U.S. Treasury regulations on ARPA, providing examples of how nonprofits around the country are accessing these dollars.

In addition to getting registered for this April 13 session, here are two ways you can ACT NOW: 1) Sign on to PANO’s letter to state legislators, and 2) Check out PANO’s ARPA Advocacy Toolkit to start the conversation with your local officials today.
