Description

Lunch ‘n’ Learn: Building the Board/Executive Partnership
Tuesday, June 27 | 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM | Part 2 of 2-Part Short-Session Series (attend just one or both sessions!)

Presented by: Susan Detwiler, The Detwiler Group

Offered in Partnership with: The Detwiler Group

You know your role as a member of the board. You know the role of the executive leading a nonprofit. Now how do you work together? When the board and executive are a team, the whole organization benefits. When board members know and trust the executive, boards can focus on the future and the executive can focus on delivering the mission. Board discussions become more strategic and less tactical. Executives are more comfortable being transparent about the workings of the organization.

What does it take to build that partnership? Once you have it, how do you maintain it? In this session, seasoned nonprofit consultant Susan Detwiler will review some of the elements of a great Board/Exec relationship and how to create and maintain that relationship, including:

  • Boards as a collection of individuals
  • Developing a trust relationship
  • Supporting the executive through board engagement
  • The board chair as a key relationship
  • The role of the partnership in onboarding new members

While this session will build on concepts covered in Lunch 'n' Learn: Your Foundation for Board Service on June 20, that is not a pre-requisite for attending this workshop. If you’d like to attend both, consider purchasing a series ticket (20% off the cost of registering for each session individually)!

SINGLE SESSION TICKETS (for Building the Board/Exec Partnership only)

Per Person Cost:
$30 for PANO Members | $66 for Not-Yet Members

Terms of Participation
Your purchase entitles you to a single login. Please do not share the login information with others, as it may interfere with your ability to join. If multiple individuals from your organization would like to participate, please purchase separate tickets for each person or consider a group screening ticket (below).

Group Screening Cost (4-10 individuals):
$100 per group for PANO Members | $222 per group for Not-Yet Members
