Description
It’s 2025, and Pennsylvania’s new annual reporting requirement is now in effect. All nonprofit corporations and certain other entity types formed in or doing business in Pennsylvania must file an annual report every year, regardless of whether the organization’s leadership has changed.
The implications for PA libraries, in particular, vary from entity to entity depending on how they are set up. If you work with or for a PA library and are confused about what the reporting requirements mean for your organization, you are not alone! That's why PANO partnered with Cheshire Law Group for this special session, just for PA libraries.
The first filing deadline is not until June 30, so there’s time, but why wait?
In this library-specific legal briefing, nonprofit attorney Morgen Cheshire covered:
- How to determine your library's "origin story" and what that means for your filing status
- When and how to file
- Consequences of non-filing
- Common areas of confusion & FAQs
- Other, related updates
*NOTE: This was an informational session; no legal advice was given to attendees. Attendees seeking legal advice should engage legal counsel. Attendees’ attendance does not establish attorney-client relationship with the presenter or her law firm, even if attendees ask questions and receive responses from the presenter.
